Complete or Complain Mindset
February 9, 2022
I had a goal today of getting a blog article done, I have had plenty of interruptions though. I could have used these interruptions as an excuse not to write. If you are reading this you can see I was successful in writing. The challenges actually gave birth to today’s idea. The idea of having a complete mindset over a complain mindset.
Read on why for me it was important to get this writing done…quick hint; it came down to my mindset.
A charming, but cunning, drunk pirate once said “The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem. Do you understand?”
This pirate was none other than Jack Sparrow of Pirates of the Caribbean fame.
In today’s post, I am going to write about this saying from another perspective. The perspective of a complete mindset over a complain mindset.
We have all probably been here and experienced this first hand.
The putting off or procrastinating over a to-do list or some tasks that need to be done at work, or home. It could be anything really, anything that requires you to “do”.
Coming back to Jack Sparrow’s quote our mindset becomes critical in these situations.
Our outlook is everything, we are either going to have the complete mindset or we will have the complain mindset.
The depth of a problem is how we approach things, will it be to rip in and get it done.? This is the complete mindset.
Or will we complain, make excuses. procrastinate, making our approach the biggest problem? This is the complain mindset.
Like Jack asked, do you understand? The only thing you can control is how you approach the problem. And this is either with a complete mindset, do whatever needs to be done, our the complain mindset, whinge and bitch about the problem, creating even a bigger problem.
Think about how you approach things? If you draw on your experience you’ll find that you’ve probably used both approaches at different times.
And I am sure the time when you got in and got things done felt much better than any time you have complained and stalled.
When you are faced with tasks, (all tasks), your mindset towards them is critical. Find yourself practicing the COMPLETE MINDSET and you’ll be amazed how much you can get done, and benefit of the feel-good feeling of completion.
