Knowledge or Implementation? What’s Holding You Back
October 17, 2021
Many people would say that their lack of knowledge is a major barrier in achieving whatever it is they are wanting to achieve.
I question if this is the truth though. Is it really a knowledge thing? I’d say it is more of an action issue.
It is rarely a knowledge thing, it is usually an implementation thing. Regardless of the issue or the scope.
For example take nutrition…I’d be pretty confident to say most people know what is and what isn’t good food. Their knowledge on food is likely to be fine, the problem is the implementation, for many of us our actions don’t show our awareness. Instead they normally show a behaviour that needs to be fixed, a laziness that is leading you to easy options. The wrong options.
And when things go wrong because of our behaviours we normally blame a lack of knowledge.
Most of the time it is not knowledge though.
All of these things are implementation things, a failing of implementation to be exact, you knowingly take the wrong, or the poor option, you choose the bad option over a better option. While knowledge is an important piece to any task it is action that is the deciding factor on our success.
