Win the Morning…Win the Day

Win the morning to win the day…this is very true.

By winning the morning I mean getting up early and doing productive and proactive things to start your day. If you do then you’ll have a much better day

How can we win the morning?

Number 1 is get up early. Consider this, if I woke up 1 hour earlier than I do currently this will give me 7 extra hours a week, 30 extra hours a month and 365 extra hours in a year. This earlier rise equates to more than 15 extra days in the year in total time. Time in which I can be productive.

Oh yes I can here your response, I can gain these hours by going to bed an hour later and getting up at the same time. It is a fair point, however who is productive in the last hour before bed, this isn’t productive time, this should be winding down time preparing for a good sleep.

There are two things I consider true, the more sleep you get before 12am (midnight) the better quality sleep you will have, and the more you get done before 12pm (midday) the more productive your day will be.

This is my experience first hand. When I am up early I get more done, this is true, when I get up late I seem to be less productive. Am I right? Is it the norm for everyone?

Well I am sure there are some outliers than can get up late and still win the day, I’d say the majority of people would benefit from an earlier rise.

How can we win the morning? Secondly, set yourself a routine, get up and journal, meditate, practice deep breathing, get up and exercise, listen to a podcast etc. Or get up and prep meals for the day. Find what works for you. Get up and be productive, avoid  getting up early and seeking social media, or watching TV, this isn’t winning the morning, this is getting up early to be distracted. Early morning time can be undistracted time, you will have the chance to be productive not distracted.
