You Can Overcome Hardships

A Farmer had an old donkey that feel into a deep dried up well. When the farmer looked down the well he considered how hard it would be to rescue him, it would be a tough job. The farmer looked at the old donkey, the donkey looked back, the farmer thought to himself, he looks tired, he has had a good life, he doesn’t have much longer to live anyways. The farmer decided that he would fetch his shovel and bury the donkey alive.
The farmer began tossing scoops of dirt into the well, one after the other. Then another and another he continued scooping dirt for an hour. At the hour mark the Farmer decided to have a look into the well, expecting to see the old donkey covered over. What he saw was not what he expected. See the donkey he was a resourceful animal, he had been shaking the dirt off his back and packing it down, raising himself up inch by inch. The farmer was surprised but encouraged. he returned back to shoveling and before long the dirt level was high enough that the old donkey could step up and out of the well.
Here is the point. You can defeat most hardships by following the old donkeys example. When you are down and out, shake off the dirt, keep looking up, and keep doing the work. If you maintain the your commitment and you positive attitude, you’ll eventually climb out of your troubles and trials. Sometimes, all success requires is the right perspective. – as shared by Scott Sinclair in the book “Weight Room Wisdom” (Ron McKeefery)
