Three Things Learned During COVID Lockdowns
October 20, 2021
Three things I’ve learned from the COVID-19 lockdowns to appreciate:
1. We rely on Interdependence: Our reliance to be supported by others became undeniable during this time, we are all truly in this together and although we were in isolation or lockdowns we were all depending on each other to get through it. Independence is important, interdependence is imperative!!
2. Our Impermanence to this World: This crisis reminds us that we are only on this earth for a short period of time. Although the risk of death from COVID-19 is extremely low it has been a powerful reminder in acknowledging our fragility, everyday we are alive we should live it to our fullest, we don’t have time to be angry, to create conflict, our have poor relationships. Everyday we should be focusing on behaviour that reflects living to our best, and living to our fullest.
3. To Be Grateful & Appreciative: Seeing others struggle (with any struggle) reminds us to be thankful for our good fortunes and our good health. Being grateful will help increase the value we have for ourselves and for others. Each day try and speak gratitude towards other people, tell people you are grateful for their friendship, for their support, for what ever it is, aim to express gratitude everyday. If you are thankful and appreciative of someone then let them know that you value them. Sometimes a simple and grateful Thank You with a smile could be just the thing someone else needs.
